This photo is of a religious figure that is displayed as more important because of the low camera angle. The photographer framed this very well by capturing it as the light comes through the window at the point where the bible is. The eye is drawn first to the light then up to the face of the religious figure.
I really like the use of the low camera angle to give the picture a very powerful look. The lighting behind the head also makes the picture very powerful. There are leading lines that lead you to the head. Overall a very good picture.
I thought that you used the low camera angle very well, making the wise man seem very respectable and, well, wise. I like how the light source is shining through the Bible which implies that this man's source of wisdom comes from the Bible. The colors and lines also are very interesting to the eye and lead you from the Bible up to the face of the man.
The low camera angle always makes things look more powerful and this picture is no exception. It conveys the idea that this religious figure, whatever it may be, is greater than the viewer. The the glow coming out of the figure in contrast to the surrounding darkness adds to this as well.
The lower angle empowers the figure, making it greater than the viewer. The natural, shining light makes him look divine. The composition is of a wise man.
You can really tell that the low camera angle here has been used to give a sense of empowerment to the figure on the stain glass window. I think it's really interesting how all around the figure is so dark that you can't see anything around it, yet there's light coming through the figure, which makes him look divine. One can justify that this is either a saint or a wise man because he is holding what appears to be a bible, and there is a cross on the top of his staff.
Dear Karwehn, Your photo emphasizes an emotion of respect and awe for this clearly religious figure. The low camera angle shows a sign of respect for the saint and for the religion represented. The use of light and shadow focuses our vision on the middle of the stainglass and emphasizes the “light of god” coming through the stainglass while the rest of the picture is darkness. This stainglass could be a simple domestic-window, or a beautiful piece in a church; however, due to the medium shot and the contrast our vision is focused on only the gleaming image not so much the realistic setting.
First of all, thumbs up for a good photo. I really like how everything is dark except for the center of light coming through the glass in the middle. Of course, the low camera angle helps to give the viewer the sense that the subject is larger than life. In addition, The leading lines help point out what deserves attention in the photograph.
